The Australian Merino
The Australian Merino is a superior “all purpose” sheep that we can all be proud of breeding. Its ability to adapt and thrive in areas where other sheep may fail is testament to its versatility. It is the ultimate wool producer, actively competes well on the meat front and is a high value mother for prime lambs. This diversity improves the risk factors of farming in an unpredictable Australian environment. Just some of the reasons why we salute the Australian Merino.
The Aims of AASMB
The Australian Association of Stud Merino Breeders Limited (AASMB) represents the six state Merino organisations and, through them, over nine hundred registered studs across Australia.
Our principal aims are to encourage, promote and foster the breeding and improvement of Merino and Poll Merino stud sheep, and to publish a register of these sheep in Australia.
